About

Claudia Karoline Friederike Kircher

Born in 1966 in Tübingen-Lustnau, raised in Untergröningen in the Ostalb district. Studies in Visual Communication with a focus on Art at Pforzheim University.

Inspired by abstract art, color field painting, lyrical abstraction, and the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, my works emerge between depth, stillness, wildness, rhythm, dance, and the interplay of color.

Since 2000, I have lived and worked as a designer and artist in Zurich. I draw my strength from nature – beauty and aesthetics lie in the simple and the transient.

About the Art

Painting is a form of expression. A way to give materials and emotions space. Like writing, making music, or dancing – it is a field of experimentation. Colors, materials, and brushstrokes – how they interact, move together, and allow a new image to emerge, or simply exist in their beauty – just like nature.

Painting is a dance with color — everything within it is energy. Colors, transparencies, and the skillful combination of different materials release this positive energy. The paintings then begin to speak to us.

Technique

Pure pigments, acrylic, ink, tempera, gouache, gold, and natural materials are applied in layers onto canvas, washed off, and sun-dried. The decisive moment is the moment of pause.

Branding Story

About the Kress von Kressenstein Coat of Arms (Homepage)

From the name Kreß von Kressenstein, only Kress remained – the maiden name of my mother – and the coat of arms of the noble family became the branding story for Art & Design Edition, where origin, history, and artistic presence come together. Further details available upon request.

The coat of arms of the Kreß von Kressenstein family, designed around 1530 by Hans Sebald Beham as a woodcut, is a symbol of history, identity, and aesthetics. It connects the past with the present – just as my work brings together tradition and creativity.
